Sound Ocean Systems, Inc. (SOSI) is a woman owned, small business with administrative, engineering and manufacturing facilities, incorporated in the city of Redmond, WA. SSound Ocean Systems, Inc., is an established engineering and production company for shipboard handling and deck equipment. Systems designed and built include: winches, linear cable engines, launch and recovery systems (LARS), vans, enclosures, davits, cranes, sheaves, cable management systems and other custom equipment. SOSI systems are designed for ships of opportunity with an emphasis on ease of transportation and installation. When applicable, systems are built with ISO corner castings for use with standard ISO equipment. Steel construction (aluminum on smaller winches) and epoxy finishes guarantee reliable operation and durability in the harshest marine conditions. These unique, proven systems, can improve safety and liability concerns, decrease cost by reducing required crew sizes and limit the weather's effect on your schedule. Sound Ocean Systems, Inc., engineers and manufactures a variety of underwater technology (In-Water systems). SOSI's portfolio of fiberglass and open-frame towed bodies (towfish) range from small magnetometer to large stable platforms for sensitive swath bathymetry sonar, video and photographic applications. Other efficient, safe and tested systems include our cylindrical and spherical subsea instrument housings, leak (moisture) detectors, junction boxes, variable ballast systems, pressure compensators as well as custom built systems. SOSI is the exclusive representative for SeaBotix ROVs in the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon). These unique, capable and affordable small ROVs are the benchmark by which all small ROVs are compared. |

SOSI's Ocean Observation Data Collection Systems include a variety of standard and customized products such as single sensor and integrated Oceanographic Data Buoys, Meteorological Data Buoys, Environmental Data Products, Moorings and Seafloor Platforms. SOSI products have a proven track record for effectiveness and dependability in the harshest of marine environments. Our observation and data collection systems are configured to meet specific customer and/or project requirements and configurable for short to long-term deployments. SOSI products are designed to gather, store and transmit data and statistical samples of data via satellite or other means back to the customer base. Most systems use either the Argos or the Iridium satellite telemetry systems. Many of these products can also be configured for fixed and fresh water installations where remote sensing and data acquisition are required. |

SOSI offers a variety of Global Positioning Systems and system integration services for Data Buoy and In Sea Systems. At the core of these systems is the Series 6000 Satellite Differential GPS Receiver Model GPSR-X015G and the Submersible GPS-Iridium Antenna. Both systems are designed for use with deep diving (up to 6000 m) AUVs or other autonomous systems that periodically surface to determine position and reset their navigation systems. These proven systems, combined with our 30 years of subsea system integration experience insure reliable operation that you can depend on. SOSI additionally offers a diver GPS systems for the recreational diver. Originally designed for military covert operations, the Sea Guide Diver Hand-Held GPS gives response force and recreational divers the ability to mark and relocate dive sites, wrecks, reefs or other subsea items of interest with the touch of a button. With SOSI diver GPS systems, divers will spend less time searching ad more time exploring. |

SOSI's Port Security Systems provide high-tech port security solutions for small and medium sized facilities. In the broad arena of “Homeland Security," SOSI acts as a prime contractor and integrator of high-profile intrusion sensor applications. Our government security work has encompassed the specification and sourcing of appropriate commercial-off-the-shelf equipment, custom hardware and software design, plus all aspects of installation, operational / tactical trials, as well as documentation and training of on-site personnel. To aid in these operations, SOSI develops specialized security equipment, port management and target-tracking software for the compiling of sensor information and many other innovations—ensuring better threat assessment and response coordination for security personnel.
