R/V Academic Boris Petrov
CGGE International provides vessels for charter and quality operations for projects ranging from transoceanic surveys to site survey and deep sea research. Ships are available for standard time-charter with crew, or complete with technical equipment and operations team. CGGE typically operates as vessel manager and assumes the fiscal responsibility to assure that all charter party funds are managed properly to protect the interests of the customer and to assure timely performance. We also manage all proposal support, contract negotiations, and communications between the charter party, shipowner and technical teams to assure that customer needs are fully met.
- R/V Academic Boris Petrov
The R/V Academic Boris Petrov is a special purpose ship, capable of stable operations in extreme conditions. The vessel is an ice-class ship equipped with a hull-mounted, deepwater, multi-beam system and a sub-bottom profiler. This vessel is best deployed for bathymetric, geophysical and sediment sampling projects. The RV Boris Petrov has a conveniently low freeboard, a variety of survey instrumentation and ample lab space.
The Petrov technical innovations include an Acoustic Complex by SAM Electronics, including multi-beam sonar ATLAS Hydrosweep DS-2 and deep sea profiler ATLAS Parasound DS, side-scan sonar, specialized 3-D bathymetric maps processing software, data storage, CTD system with water sampling (Neil Brown Rosette), graving and a box corer.
The ship has successfully accomplished many difficult technical tasks—including the search for a sunken Russian nuclear sub which was found in the Bermudas at a depth of 5700 m. In addition to working for the Russian government, on search and recovery missions, the ship has been involved in cable route survey as well as oil and gas exploration for German and U.K. companies.
The ship and shipowner are fully trained, certified and operating in accordance with ISM (International Safety Management) standards. All personnel, equipment and operations are in full compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, GMDSS, COLREG-72, ILLC 1966/88, and STCW-78.
