The Sound Ocean System, Inc., Series MPW-3000 Multi-Purpose Winches (MPWs) are engineered for medium line-pull operations in a variety of applications. Designed to meet the UNOLS fleet deck mounting pattern—SOSI Multi-Purpose Winches are portable and easy to install on your vessel or vessels of opportunity. MPW's quality, open-frame steel construction and proven components provide reliable operation while their 3-coat powder finish provides long life even in the harshest marine environments. These winches comply with the USGC 46 CFR 189.35-9 requirements for line breaking strengths up to 11,000 lb.

Multi-Purpose Winches can be acquired in a variety of drum widths with standard and optional features as listed below. Options include a slip ring, remote control, manual brake, line speed, payout and tension display, Lebus grooved drum shell, hydraulic reservoir heater, hydraulic air / oil cooler and the option to have the cable spooled and terminated to match your instruments.
