TOWFISH Model 102-100-001

|
SOSI
manufactures Hybrid Towfish with internal aluminum frames and external
fiberglass fairing. These towfish are custom designed to suit each
application such as the low frequency swath bathymetric seafloor mapping
SeaMap towfish shown. They are typically configured for neutral buoy-ancy
and can be rated for operational depths from to 1,000 to 6,000 meters.
Some towfish like the SeaMap are designed to carry side scan sonar
electronics in two one atmosphere pressure housings. The housing bays
are located on either side in the top half of the towfish and are
provided with removable panels for easy access to the housings.
Similarly, they may have provisions on each side and in the bottom to
carry side looking and sub-bottom arrays. The towfish typically
incorporate removable flotation modules and in the case of the SeaMap
can carry additional payloads up to 2,000 lbs. These large towfish are
easy to deploy when used in conjunction with the SOSI Model LRS
162-1000-001 Launch and Recovery Systems. The towfish's quality
fiberglass and aluminum construction provide long life even in the
harshest marine environments. Their simple, low maintenance, proven
design assures stable towfish operations that you can depend upon.
