Representatives of Sound Ocean Systems, Inc. will be attending the Oceans 2010 MTS/IEEE event in Seattle and have a booth, September 20-23rd, 2010.

The OCEANS Conference, jointly sponsored by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and the Oceanic Engineering Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE/OES), is a major international forum for scientists, engineers, and responsible ocean users to present the latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications in Oceanic Engineering and Marine Technology. Seattle's OCEANS 2010 features tutorials on special interest topics, a comprehensive technical program of lectures and presentations, a student program, and a large exhibit hall with products from over one hundred companies.

Core OCEANS topics exploring underwater acoustics and acoustical oceanography; sonar signal and image processing; ocean observing platforms; remote sensing; ocean data visualization; marine environment, oceanography, and meteorology; optics and imaging; marine law and policy; offshore structures and tech; and, ocean vehicles and floating structures.

Local-interest technical topics focusing on operational and research ocean observing systems; marine renewable energy; coastal hazards; and, technologies for ecological studies of Pacific Northwest fish and marine mammal populations.

Washington State Conference and Trade Center

The OCEANS 2010 Seattle venue is the newly renovated and expanded Washington State Conference and Trade Center (WSCTC). Located in the heart of Seattle, it is surrounded by fine shops, restaurants, and hotels. The main entrance of the Convention Center is located at the corner of 8th Avenue and Pike Street.

The host hotel for the conference, The Sheridan Seattle Hotel, is conveniently located across the street from the Conference Center. The address is 1400 6th Avenue.
